Feijoa Project

The Feijoa Project is a community interest company set up to assist vulnerable people, especially those with a learning or physical disability.

Based at the Walled Art Garden at Cockington Court, Torbay the project seeks to develop and improve skills, self-esteem and confidence and to assist with gaining employment through training and education. Members of the project are both creating and maintaining the garden, working in collaboration with  a number of local artists, providing a peaceful, imaginative and inspiring space for visitors and for the local community. The project actively encourages the participants to become more independent and to try new activities in a safe and supportive environment.

Steve from IF says...

This project has grown out of a desire to give local people with physical or learning difficulties a place where they can make a substantive contribution to the community, while at the same time gaining skills, confidence and building new friendships. The plans for the garden are imaginative, quirky and fun and we're really looking forward to visiting it and seeing it develop as the work progresses.
